The Consulting
Centreassists clients to formulate their requirements and
progress it into formal models and specifications for the business solution.
The
Infomet Consulting Centre offers the following services:
Specifications are based on
formal modelling work sessions:
Strategy Modelling
Organizational Modelling
Function Modelling
Data Modelling
Object Modelling
Process Modelling
Application Modelling
Platform Modelling
Network Modelling
Etc.
Joint
Application Development (JAD) work sessions are used as a very
important and essential mechanism of how Infomet analyses problems and
designs solutions. Much of the success of the methodology is based on this
approach. Infomet has equipped its consulting offices with facilities that
support the JAD process. Of course, JAD sessions are extremely effective at the
client’s premises, but when a client needs rapid solutions, the consulting
centre has better logistical support for this process.
Specially
equipped JAD tables make it possible to analyse requirements and
model solutions while all of this can be recorded (video taped or snapped) at
the press of a button. Scribes can be engaged in a collaborative manner
without them actually being in the JAD offices. The session is streamed to the
Development Centre where as many scribes as needed can start processing the
assertions and models that are being made in the JAD offices. Voice recordings
of the client’s requirements are immediately transcribed into draft documents,
while models drawn by hand are captured onto a CASE tool. This ensures that
documentation is produced immediately after the work sessions, and draft
notes are turned into formal and quality documentation in a very short period
of time. These sessions are available for later retrieval by architects, designers,
developers and project managers for information.
These
structured sessions ensure that the valuable time of our clients is not
wasted and that all business information is turned into usable format quickly.
Deliverables are thus quickly visible and accessible to all those that require it.
To further
support this way of working, an electronic E-JAD facility is made
available via a project portal. This ensures that the latest set of specifications
are accessible from any location, and that participants that are not always able
to attend meetings when they should, can be connected in the process. The
discussion threads are there to be reviewed, together with the formal models
that get built from these sessions.
